Dog and Bone has developed our Independent Telecommunications Support Service model in response to our client’s requests for a type of assistance that phone companies proved either unable or unwilling to provide, and were not generally found in-house.
The overall benefit of Dog and Bone conducting regular health-checks and providing ongoing support is the certainty of knowing that you are getting what you contractually agreed to, plus having available an external source of expertise to quickly resolve complex issues. Our clients usually find that this service pays for itself, through reductions in both costs and staff time.

Annual Account Auditing
This is Dog and Bone's full Auditing service. In addition to a detailed Rates Verification, it includes a comprehensive Account Audit, ensuring your accounts are operating at optimum efficiency from both a financial and operational standpoint. Any inefficiencies that we detect are outlined in an exhaustive report, with possible solutions explored. If rate errors are found, we pursue compensation on your behalf, always aiming to have errors credited retrospectively. Negotiating with phone companies over incorrect billing can be a time consuming task and one that requires a particular expertise. Dog and Bone has achieved credits ranging from a few hundred dollars, to in excess of $40,000 for our clients.
Monthly Macro Auditing
This is our ongoing auditing service. It involves assessing your phone bills on a monthly basis, looking for inefficiencies in use. If issues are detected, we then provide a summary of our findings, including a range of suggested actions to be taken. The primary aim of this service is to enable a more pro-active style of ongoing account management, ensuring that issues are addressed before they get out of hand. It can also be specifically tailored to your needs. For example, it might include Cost Centre reporting, monthly spend trends. This service is a great way to manage complex minimum spends, cap plans and mobile data - areas that need constant monitoring.
Mobile Usage SMS Reporting
Dog and Bone's fully managed SMS Reporting service enables
organisations to send out an SMS each month to every staff member,
keeping them informed about their mobile call spend level and SMS
totals. Extensive trialling of this service has demonstrated that it provides tangible benefits, serving both to curtail excessive mobile usage and to assist with the management of mobile fleets.

Whilst SMS Reporting is available to all Dog and Bone clients, we find it to be most useful for our Independent
Telecommunications Support Service clients, since in those cases we are
generally already working with a client's bills each month. Support Service clients
also receive a volume discount. Given the nature of the service, it should
also be noted that this service becomes truly worthwhile - both for the
client and for us - when applied to mobile fleets above a certain size,
and for clients who utilise online billing.
Expert Knowledge Base
Dog and Bone is available to conduct research on your behalf into matters large and small. For example, we might assess the best method of upgrading your ISDN and phone system infrastructure to cope with business expansion, or we might determine whether the CEO’s phone will work in a particular foreign country, and how best to reduce global roaming charges.
Framework Development
Dog and Bone has great experience in the development up to date, clear policy documentation on the acceptable use of ICT services. Building upon this, we are often called upon to build frameworks for the procurement of all telecommunications and/or data services. This includes setting up preferred suppliers, procurement forms and developing a process map for your staff to follow (which proves invaluable in the case of staff turn over). Based upon this, we would seek to develop a suitable Asset Register and Cost Centre allocation (ideally involving your incumbent carrier). This service then dovetails flawlessly into the Monthly Macro Auditing, via which we are able to monitor the above to ensure policies are being followed. We find this service is invaluable for clients requiring a clear, practical approach to the management of their accounts. It also ensures current policies are up to date with today’s technology.
Equipment Advice
We manage and recommend the supply of new phone equipment, such as handsets or car kits. We ensure your staff always get the right gear, with any special requirements (such as remote coverage) fully considered.
Resolution Management
If required, Dog and Bone work in conjunction with phone companies’ account managers, with the understanding that Dog and Bone are to be involved only when a suitable resolution cannot be found with your account manager.
