We were able to secure charity telco pricing for a Victorian aged care organisation and optimise their services, helping them to cut their telco costs nearly in half.
The client
A non-profit that provides a wide range of services to support the health, well-being, and independence of older adults. They offer a variety of programs that include in-home care, residential aged care, retirement living, and respite care.
The context
As a result of several organisational initiatives, the client’s telecommunications services and usage had grown substantially. As part of due diligence, they realised that they were paying a premium for their telco services.
Their goal
They wanted to explore potential cost reductions, take ownership of their telco ecosystem, allowing them to direct more resources towards their community services.
Our approach
We first collated and compiled the telephony accounts and services to provide a comprehensive overview of current telco services and costs. We helped them understand their future needs and identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiencies. We then facilitated a ‘request for quote’ process with their telecommunication vendor and evaluated and assessed responses against our modelling and negotiated with the vendor to the best deal for the client.

Through assessment and modelling, we determined their eligibility for a non-profit pricing contract, then successfully transitioned them to significantly reduced rates. When combined with other cost saving optimisations, we identified savings of $1.3m, or $38,000 per month over a 36-month contract.
