For over 20 years, we've worked with Not-for-Profits and B Corps that are making a real difference in their communities. Many NFPs struggle to access professional services that could help amplify their impact. That’s why we created our Impact Program—to provide pro bono support to NFPs that need help with technology and telco management.
As part of an Impact Round focused on B Corps, we received applications from inspiring organisations doing incredible work. Among them, The Growth Activists stood out as a staff favourite. We were honoured to offer them a pro bono Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) technology review project to support their mission of growing ‘good’ business.

The client
The Growth Activists is a Sydney-based strategy and engagement consultancy that transforms bold ideas into actionable strategies. Their work helps purpose-driven organisations develop sustainable business models that balance people, planet and profit.
Through our initial scoping call, we identified an opportunity to support their commitment to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) by leveraging technology to drive their vision forward. To achieve this, we developed a tailored ESP Platform Development Strategy.
The Context
ESG frameworks help organisations assess and manage their impact on the planet, society, and corporate governance. Measuring and reducing our carbon footprint, sustainable supply chains, transparency and accountability are key elements included in the ESG framework.
The Growth Activists welcomed an independent assessment of their technology strategy that would underpin their approach to ESG.
Scope of Engagement
We launched the project with a high-level project management plan, establishing timelines and success metrics. Using our workshop methodology, we engaged key stakeholders to refine the scope, gather requirements and understand strategic direction. We undertook a review of ESG platforms and technology solutions on the market and their suitability for use by Growth Activists and their clients.
To help The Growth Activists determine the best technology approach, we structured our project around six key objectives:
Assess the ESG platform vision and it’s fit with organisational needs
Conduct structured product analysis to define core features and composition
Compare product requirements against market options and constraints
Explore platform development approaches and potential pathways
Deliver a platform development lifecycle options paper
Present key recommendations and strategic implementation considerations
The Outcome
The goal of the project was to provide advice to The Growth Activists as to what technology platforms were most suitable for use for tracking ESG and managing their delivery of services to clients. The report provided recommendations as to what technology model would most suit their needs from a function, risk, cost and business alignment perspective.
Key Deliverables & Results:
Refined ESG Product Vision – Analysed their ESG technology strategy.
Product Analysis Workshops – Facilitated consultative sessions with key stakeholders to assess needs and align to potential options.
Market Scan & Opportunity Assessment – Conducted a competitor analysis and identified potential development pathways.
Product Roadmap Options – Outlined strategies for build, buy, or adapt approaches.
Strategic Recommendations – Delivered an in-person presentation to management of insights, recommendations, and next steps.
The management team at the Growth Activists used the recommendations in the report to guide their organisational strategy, technology roadmap and model for delivery to clients.
We were thrilled to provide pro bono support to a fellow B Corp and like-minded organisation committed to positive impact. The Growth Activists are just one of many purpose-driven organisations we support through our Impact Program.
