Helping VACCA find a new IT Service Provider

Dog and Bone had the privilege of working with the Victorian Aboriginal Child and Community Agency (VACCA) to help the IT team meet evolving business requirements through finding a Managed Services Provider (MSP) able to partner with VACCA and deliver business value through enhanced technology services

Dog and Bone helped us find an excellent MSP who is already making a difference

- Louise Jonas Director of Corporate Services VACCA

VACCA recognised the need for transformational change within their IT infrastructure and that the existing arrangements and contracts were not suited to meet the future business demands. VACCA sought the assistance of Dog and Bone to facilitate a requirement gathering and procurement project to clearly document their future business requirements and find a suitable MSP with a view to establish a long-term partnership.

Our approach

To help VACCA select the best possible MSP, Dog and Bone managed the entire project from start to finish, including:

  1. Gathering and documenting VACCA's business and IT requirements

  2. Preparing the Request for proposal (RFP) documentation

  3. Conducting the RFP and communicating with potential MSPs

  4. Evaluating the responses and providing expert advice to VACCA

  5. Assisting with the selection of the new MSP and high-level planning of the transition

Throughout the project, we worked closely and collaboratively with VACCA to ensure shared understanding of options and considerations to achieve the best outcome.

Challenges and Risk Mitigation

One of the primary risks associated with this project was the potential for disruption to VACCA's essential services during the transition to a new MSP. To mitigate this risk, Dog and Bone worked closely with VACCA and the selected MSP partner to develop a high-level transition approach that minimised downtime and prioritised continuity of services.

Another challenge was ensuring that the new MSP would be able to meet VACCA's current and future business and technology needs. To address this, we facilitated a thorough requirement gathering process, which involved collaboration with VACCA's stakeholders to gain an understanding of their operations, goals, and pain points.

Benefits and outcomes

As a result of our work, VACCA was able to:

  1. Improve their overall services by partnering with an MSP that better aligned with their future needs and goals

  2. Strengthen their IT services and governance, ensuring that their technology infrastructure is reliable, secure, and able to support their growing needs

  3. Reduce risk by preparing a smooth transition to the new MSP and minimising disruption to their services

  4. Implement security improvements to protect sensitive data and maintain compliance with industry regulations

  5. Receive strategic advice and guidance from Dog and Bone throughout the project, helping them make informed decisions about their technology investments

Dog and Bone's expertise and commitment to delivering tailored solutions helped VACCA successfully navigate the challenges of finding a new MSP and uplifting their technology. By partnering with Dog and Bone, VACCA was able to focus on their core mission of supporting and empowering Aboriginal children, families, and communities while knowing that their technology needs were in capable hands
