Supporting VACCA's use of cloud technologies to improve efficiencies and access to information

The Victorian Aboriginal Child and Community Agency (VACCA) is a state-wide Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation (ACCO) servicing children, young people, families, and community members. VACCA is the largest of its kind in Australia. They have protected and promoted the rights of Aboriginal children and families for over 40 years.

Challenge

VACCA's challenge was in the development of a new modernised Intranet and document management solution that would utilise their current cloud environment, providing simplified access to information and documents during the recent COVID pandemic, and beyond.

Process and Deliverables

  • Facilitated requirements gathering workshop and completed a detailed file analysis

  • Delivered solution overview, information architecture and proposed site map

  • Conducted an implementation planning workshop, including content plan and implementation schedule

  • Designed, built and tested new Information Management environment, including migration of data and assistance in the development of content

  • Assisted with change management activities and developed core training material, both written and video recorded

Outcomes

  • Further utilisation of cloud-based technologies to support VACCA’s strategic objectives

  • Consolidation of business systems reducing risk and expensive overheads

  • Increased efficiencies using forms and workflows

  • Enablement through knowledge sharing, formal training and recorded training material

  • VACCA’s objective was to consolidate key business systems and further utilise cloud-based technologies to support the organisation’s strategic objectives.

“We are really happy to have engaged Dog & Bone for VACCA’s Information Management project. The workplace efficiencies and improved access to information will change how we operate, in focusing our efforts on our core business and client facing services”

- Sandy Gillam, VACCA
